CBD oil for stress

Today's everyday life looks very different from that of a few decades ago. Rapid technological progress and unlimited access to new technologies, as well as different lifestyles, often result in stress being a constant presence in our society. We spend most of the day sitting in front of a computer, with a complete lack of contact with nature, often resorting to stimulants such as coffee or cigarettes, as well as alcohol. We live in a state of constant tension and inattention, and often, despite having found some free time, we are unable to fully relax, continuing to analyse current affairs, which is definitely not good for our organism. Is it worth it then CBD oil for stress?

Stress and CBD and its symptoms

Stress is a set of negative stimuli to which the human body is exposed in response to events that upset its equilibrium and which we cannot cope with.

The first signs of stress should never be ignored. Symptoms such as gastrointestinal problems, difficulty concentrating or concentrating, and even insomnia or anxiety should be a signal to act. Especially as we can still help ourselves in the early stages and avoid the use of pharmacology. Let's not wait for stress to wreak real havoc in our bodies. Scientists warn that prolonged and chronic stress takes a negative toll on the human body and its effects can last for years.

It also exacerbates symptoms in chronic diseases such as Hashimoto's, type I diabetes and RA, and the list of stress-induced conditions continues to grow, not to mention the negative impact on immunity and the long-term secretion of cortisol, which is fatal to the human body.

Does CBD oil help with stress?

Yes, proven CBD oil helps with stress. Certainly a lot depends on the source, the type of stress and the time of exposure to it. However, studies show promise in CBD therapy for PTSD- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The same is true for the stresses of everyday life, which are chronic but make it difficult to function. CBD definitely has soothing, calming and sedative properties. This is why it is so important to choose CBD oil from a proven source, with a full spectrum of cannabinoids, free of heavy metals, fungi and mould or pesticide residues, which should be confirmed by research.

CBD oil for stage fright

If we delve into some of the human clinical trials that have been conducted to date, we can come to an optimistic conclusion. Looking at public speaking stress, researchers in 2017 found that 300 mg, but not 100 mg or 900 mg, reduced anxiety in a group of young, healthy men and women. That's why it's important to choose the right dose - more is not always better. It is a good idea to start gradually increasing your CBD intake and observe your body.

In 2021, on the other hand, a group of 387 people were studied, in which 37.5% of the subjects admitted to using CBD to combat stress and its effects, and as many as 92.2% of the subjects found their stress levels significantly reduced. Chronic stress was also shown to be the third top reason for CBD use in this study. However, no studies have directly focused on how CBD affects perceived stress levels. This may be partly due to the fact that stress, apart from post-traumatic stress disorder, is not classified as a disease according to the WHO international classification of diseases. With more than 12.8 million working days lost due to work-related stress, anxiety or depression by employees in the UK in 2019, the link between CBD and stress has therefore become an area of wider interest for further research on CBD in this country. A recent social media survey of comments on the perceived therapeutic effects of CBD products found that the most commonly discussed symptoms, which are not addressed in the scientific literature, are indeed stress and nausea. Pharmacological studies also suggest that CBD is a partial agonist of the 5-HT1a receptor, which supports anti-anxiety and stress-reducing properties and whose activation has been linked to the anti-anxiety, antidepressant and antipsychotic effects of CBD oils. This receptor is also associated with serotonin production.

The endocannabinoid system and stress

As is well known, the human endocannabinoid system regulates a variety of physiological functions of the body, including caloric energy balance and immune or endocrine function and also regulates emotionally driven behaviour such as stress, among others. CBD is said to activate the cannabinoid CB1R receptors mainly found in the human brain, which produces an anti-stress effect. This activation is also necessary for the negative feedback of the neuroendocrine stress response and protects against the adverse effects of chronic stress.

Researchers unanimously claim that regular use of CBD helps to combat psychosis, anxiety, depression or other illnesses with a psychological basis, including post-traumatic stress disorder or chronic daily stress.

Today's pace of life and the way we live it exposes us to constant stress on a daily basis. Lack of time for rest or relaxation, unhealthy diet, little or no physical activity and short and shallow sleep are not conducive to combating the stress that accompanies us every day. Therefore, it is worthwhile even taking preventive action by applying proven CBD oilsand when stressful situations overwhelm us, a higher concentration or CBG oil can be used.
