Recent years have brought more and more answers to questions about what CBD is and the positive impacts associated with its use. And it turns out that the effects of CBD oils are extremely comprehensive. This has been confirmed by countless scientific studies, of which there has been an avalanche in recent years. Today, there are even medicines available whose main ingredient is actually cannabidiol (CBD).<\/b> Not surprisingly, therefore, research has also been done in the context of the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). And the results? Really promising.<\/span><\/p>

What is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and what are its symptoms<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>

COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is a disease that results in inflammation of the respiratory system, mainly the lungs. Patients have difficulty breathing, making them tire quickly. It is therefore not surprising that the quality of life of COPD sufferers continues to deteriorate significantly. Difficulty breathing due to inflammation of the respiratory system is one thing. Another problem associated with the disease is the excessive secretion of mucus, which also significantly blocks the movement of inhaled air and exhaled carbon dioxide. Over time, the amount of mucus is so great that it blocks the airways, significantly restricting the access of air and thus reducing the amount of oxygen, which is essential for life.\u00a0<\/p>

Who is most at risk of contracting COPD? Well, smokers. Tobacco enthusiasts are the most likely to contract this dangerous disease. And it even becomes very dangerous when left untreated. This is because the health of the COPD patient deteriorates steadily and can even lead to death. The disease is often accompanied by bronchitis and in many cases emphysema.\u00a0<\/p>

The bad news is that it is an incurable disease. Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are usually treated symptomatically. Doctors simply try to reduce the patient's discomfort.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>

And the symptoms are not significantly different from those experienced by asthma or bronchitis sufferers. This is primarily a suffocating cough, perpetual breathlessness and tightness in the chest. Mucus that keeps accumulating is also a problem. The patient complains of shortness of breath and constant fatigue due to lack of sufficient oxygen, which is supplied to the internal organs in limited amounts. Those affected often have blue lips.\u00a0<\/p>

The disease is diagnosed by a lung test, or spirometry. This is a functional test of the respiratory system that measures the volume and capacity of the lungs, and allows us to assess the regularity of breathing.<\/b> Spirometry is about making a rapid diagnosis for serious respiratory conditions. And one of these conditions is COPD.\u00a0<\/p>

What CBD oils are and what effects they have<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>

In a nutshell\u00a0<\/span>CBD oils<\/a>\u00a0are an extract of cannabidiol (CBD) extracted from the flowers of the hemp plant. They do not exhibit any psychoactive properties unlike THC (cannabis), but a whole host of health-promoting and medicinal properties. In the context of COPD, a very important property of CBD is its anti-inflammatory action, confirmed by many scientific studies.<\/b> And as we know, COPD is an inflammatory condition. Cannabidiol also has a relaxing, pain-relieving effect, helps you fall asleep and improves the quality of your sleep. And it's hard for someone who suffers from shortness of breath to get a good night's sleep.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In addition, scientific studies have shown that CBD helps to treat anxiety and depression, which are very common in people with obstructive pulmonary disease. It also helps to put the body into a state of relaxation and allows it to calm down.\u00a0<\/span><\/div><\/div>

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is, according to the WHO, on the best (or rather worst) path to become the third most deadly disease in the world. Cardiovascular disease ranks first, followed by cancer. At the same time, it is a disease for which no cure has yet been found. At most, symptomatic treatment is possible. CBD oils are playing an increasingly important role in alleviating the symptoms of COPD. Not only do they significantly reduce the symptoms, but they also have the power to improve overall health.<\/span><\/p>
